The team headed for San Bernardino, CA to compete in the Lucas Oil Regional Offroad Series on Saturday September 6th. Riding momentum and getting faster with more and more seat time, Katie was aiming to continue her consistent run, and improve her placings. Katie had great practice sessions, and with some tuning, was very comfortable with her set up going into Qualifying. In qualifying, she set her best time on lap 5, dealing with a very different track than what was practiced on. The effort was good enough to stay within seconds of the pole, but in a tight production class, ended up 13th overall.
During the race, Katie battled through the pack, which had split. Because of the nature of the production class, battling midpack, you’re often up against some of the best in class, and this night was no different. Driving a clean race, she found herself finishing in 10th spot, the best finishing female driver for the weekend and still holding 10th in the points, once again, the highest points placing female driver for the series thus far. The next Lucas Regional Race is at Lake Elsinore, October 11th.
